Dog Wellness and Canine Preventative Health Care

Puppy Care

When a new puppy comes into your life, our goal is to provide the care necessary to make your puppy a happy, healthy, and loved member of your family. During a series of first visits, we will:

  • Provide a complete physical examination to uncover any potential problems
  • Perform an intestinal parasite exam and do the appropriate treatment
  • Administer appropriate vaccines
  • Provide information regarding diet, training, exercise, and behavior problems
  • Start your puppy on appropriate heartworm, flea and tick preventative
  • Answer your questions

Puppy Vaccines

We will vaccinate your dog against Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus, Canine Coronavirus, Canine Parainfluenza, and Rabies.

There are other vaccines that are given in certain circumstances. These include Bordetella bronchisepta, Leptospirosis, and Lyme Disease. Each puppy will be evaluated on an individual basis as to the need for these vaccines.

Adult Dog Care

In order to maintain your dog’s health, we will on a yearly basis:

  • Perform a comprehensive physical examination to detect any sign of disease
  • Test for internal parasites and treat accordingly
  • Screen for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasmosis
  • Administer CORE vaccines every three years (see DOG VACCINES)
  • Administer NON-CORE vaccines only as needed every year (SEE DOG VACCINES)
  • Blood tests and other tests that are needed to detect problems before they affect your pet
  • Dispense needed heartworm, flea and tick medications
  • Discuss behavior and diet
  • Answer your questions
